I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, consistently making substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really happening.
